Item Description
Lot of nine items. All deal w/Samurai Cat (aka Miaowara Tomokato), the main character in a series of books by Mark Rogers. Anachronistic satire, each book has accompanying pictures painted by Rogers. Each story is a bizarre parody of some historical or pop culture event, but the event is always treated as an entirely serious one. First is signed copy of "The Sword Of Samurai Cat" book published by Tor in 1991. Scattered lt. wear. VF. Next three are full-color "Samurai Cat" comic books, complete #1-3 series, published by Epic Comics in 1991. First issue has been signed by Rogers. Scattered wear w/pinch creases to spines, Fine-VF overall. Next are three illustrated storybooks published by Tor in 1984, 1986 and 1989. Titles include - "The Adventures Of Samurai Cat, More Adventures Of Samurai Cat" and "Samurai Cat In The Real World." Some spine rubs, but VF/Exc. overall. All books are first printings. "Samurai Cat" 12.5x18.75" illustrated envelope contains 12 full color 11x17" prints featuring Samurai Cat and Shiro and parodies "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" as well as "John Carter Of Mars" and "The Hobbit" and spoofs the Arthurian legend. Envelope has lt. wear, but prints are NM. "Samurai Cat II" illustrated envelope contains 12 full color 9-5/8x12.75" prints featuring Samurai Cat and Shiro and parodies "Star Wars," Dracula, "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers," as well as spoofing Frank Frazetta's iconic "Death Dealer" fantasy painting. Envelope has lt. wear, but prints remain NM/Mint.
