Item Description
2" dia. with beautifully colored portrait against silver luster background. Slogan above "Vote For McKinley & Protection." Top has 1" red ribbon to use with a pin for wearing. Some scattered tiny luster dots on the background are gone but vast majority of color and luster remains. Text on front bottom edge reads "A. Fischer Mfg. Co. Hamilton, O." Most of these we've seen have a blank reverse. However this piece has company names on the outer edge "Illinois Steel Co And Great Western Tin Plate Co." At center is additional text reading "American Tin Plate." This is followed by a very difficult to read word as the black ink is very dense but it says along with the following words which are much more clear "Product Of American Ore/Coal/Coke/Steel/Brains/And American Labor/Juliet, Ills." Numerous pinpoint dots of luster off the back but other than the single word quite easily readable. Only example we've seen with this reverse. Sen. Charles Dick Collection.
