Item numbers 1 through 1278 in auction 206
Item Description
From same set as #1145. Glossy photo front w/text below portrait "Moore Base Ball." Bold and distinct image. Dobie Moore was a Negro League shortstop who played his entire Negro Leagues career with the Kansas City Monarchs. His career was ended abruptly by an off-field injury in the middle of his seventh season. Nicknamed "The Black Cat", Moore helped the Monarchs to three league titles (1923-1925), and one Colored World Series title in 1924. He was nominated and considered for the National Hall of Fame in 2006, but fell short of the needed 75% affirmative vote. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
