Sendak (1928-2012) illustrated Jan Wahl’s "Pleasant Fieldmouse," first published in 1964 and still in print today. Jan Wahl is the author of more than 100 books, some of note include: "Humphrey’s Bear, I Met A Dinosaur" and "Elf Night." Superbly detailed drawing in India ink has cheerful boy eating apple under tree w/deer nearby about to catch falling apple as birds flutter around nest in tree.
