Item Description
See Sendak/Wahl related items #2000, 2002-2007. 8-3/8x10-3/8" high quality wood frame has 4.5x6.5" window. Delightful scene has six printed images by Sendak of sad boy in tattered winter clothes slowly becoming a Christmas tree w/candles w/two happy children nearby. Reverse side has additional glass covered opening revealing back of card which has ink inscription "For Jan - With Affection - Maurice." 1960s. Exc. Delightful design is further enhanced by delicate watercolor hand done by Sendak himself. Extremely limited, likely just done for some of the artist's closest acquaintances. Ready for display.
