Item Description
8.5x11" original handbill for Big Brother And The Holding Company concert that took place Jan. 5, 1968 at the Rainbow Ballroom in Fresno, CA. While handbill is for a Big Brother concert, only Joplin (who was the lead singer) is pictured. Concert mentions Valley Fever was the other act at the concert. Light corner tip wear but VF/Exc. overall. Second item is 8.25" long Mohawk hairbrush w/pick end and stiff bristles that was personally used by Janis Joplin. These items were obtained from Neil Hopper, who worked for Rocky Morelli, the promoter of this concert. Comes w/hand-written letter on Rockaway Records letterhead from Neil Hopper stating his involvement w/the aforementioned concert as the soundman. He states that Joplin brushed her hair between songs and after the band left the venue, he found her hairbrush backstage. Brush has some aging and lt. wear from use and does have numerous strands of hair intertwined amongst the bristles. Fine/VF. Come with Hake's COA and Rockaway Records LOA.
