Item Description
10x12" original thick cardboard mount w/embossed border has applied 7.5x9.75" matte finish photo of 14 member team shown in uniforms and/or letterman sweaters on grassy field w/baseball equipment in front of them. Seated front and center is Francis “Frankie” Frisch, nicknamed the "Fordham Flash" because of his speed. In 1919, Frisch left Fordham to sign w/the New York Giants of the National League, moving directly to the majors without playing in the minor leagues. He became a three time all-star, four time World Series champion and NL MVP in 1931. He was inducted into the HOF in 1947. This is an early and historic baseball image of him just before he embarked on his professional debut and became one of the game's best players. Slightest aging, mostly to reverse of mount. Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
