Auction #208 - Part II
Item numbers 1278 through 3040 in auction 208
Item Description
22.25x28" print on high quality, acid-free heavy paper stock. Print features art by Bill Ward (1919-1998), a cartoonist notable as a good girl artist and creator of the risqué comics character Torchy. This print features one of Ward's typical Torchy-like female characters walking down the street, purse and cigarette in hand, past a "Picture Framing" storefront that has two men looking at a picture of waves crashing. White accents to the print insinuate that the busty woman's passing has affected the very tides, much to her shock. Classic Ward cartooning. Print has been hand-numbered "40/400" and has been signed in pencil by Ward at lower right. NM.
