c. 1940s cereal box design that was never produced. Each is vellum sheet attached to cardboard w/art in color pencil. Art for “Grape-Nuts Flakes” box front has 6.75x9.5” image area w/Donald Duck promoting “Flip Movie Showing 2 Different Disney Animated Cartoons Packed In This Package” as boy and girl look at flip book. Box back art has 6-5/8x9-5/8” image w/”Fireball Twigg” comic strip. Storyline has excited boy showing pop his “Walt Disney” flip book, then crying to mom when he can’t get it back as pop laughs at Donald Duck. Panel at bottom includes list of Disney titles : “Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Pinnochio, Snow White, Louie, Dewey, Etc.”. Pinocchio is misspelled as designed. Blank margins are a bit rippled as stored, image area bright and Exc. Superb graphics. Unique. Nice pair to frame together. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
