Item Description
7" tall ribbon from 1896. He was elected first President of the National League upon its founding in 1876. He was also elected into Baseball's Hall Of Fame for meritorious service to the game. He served as President of Aetna Insurance for 43 years, was Governor of Connecticut 1889-1893 and won his Senate race in 1904. This 1896 ribbon reads in full "For Republicanism./'He Dares To Lead, Where Any Dare To Follow.'"/TRUE BLUE./For Vice-President Morgan G. Bulkeley/Of/Connecticut." Two tiny pin holes near the top but overall condition remains extremely Fine. From the Sen. Charles Dick Collection.
