Item Description
8x10" original glossy showing full team w/manager Earle Brucker Sr. all in uniforms and on ball field w/a few spectators in the bleachers behind them. At the center of the team is a young Frank Robinson, the only year he played for this Pioneer League team, an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. Bottom right margin has photographer's imprint "Kelker Foto Shop Twin Falls." Frank's career in the Major Leagues began w/the Cincinnati Reds in 1956. His incredible list of accolades includes being the only player to win MVP honors in both the NL and AL and he became the first African-American manager in the Majors when he assumed the role of player-manager of the Cleveland Indians in 1975. He was inducted into the HOF in 1982. Photo has all over extensive creasing (but mostly shows only in reflected light), reverse has aging and some paper from scrapbook mounting. However, image remains glossy, bold and sharp. Good. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
