Item Description
1-3/16" with rounded brass shell frame accented by roses and leaves. Holed as made. Silver luster has evaporated. Full names above each photo. Lincoln is dark but easily visible. Near microscopic emulsion craze lines in reflected light. Narrow loss of gloss along far left edge. Narrow streak of emulsion bubbling along lower edge but not going inward very far and with no emulsion loss. Hamlin side less dark. Above and into his forehead is a tiny area 3/16" long and only 1/16" wide, tapering to a point, that does not have gloss but this shows only in reflected light. This piece is more frequently seen as DeWitt 1860-87 using the Lincoln DeWitt portrait photo #1. Overall Fine. Scarce.
