Item Description
. 3 5/8x6.5" signed envelope for the 1939 Centennial of Baseball. "In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversay of Organized Baseball." Envelope features, image of ball player tossing ball. Three cents stamp features purple tone scene of children playing baseball. Envelope is signed by 11 different baseball Hall of Fame Greats. Signers include: Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Eddie Collins, Connie Mack, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Tris Speaker, Larry(Nap)Lajoie, Grover Cleveland Alexander and George Sisler. Collins has signed in red ink, Wagner and Speaker have signed in blue ink, w/remainders signing in black. Envelope is literally covered with names of baseball greats, all of which are legible and very distinct. Envelope has been postmarked June 12, 1939 from Cooperstown, NY. Envelope has some light aging and handling wear but all signatures remain Exc. Envelope is VF. Accompanying image is for catalog display purposes only.
