Item Description
2.5" dia. celluloid scorer/schedule wheel in the shape and design of a baseball. c. early 1900s. Issued by the Massachusetts Breweries Company, w/small note at bottom edge stating "Duplicate Scorer And Schedule - 6¢ Stamps." Scorer consists of two 2.5" dia. cello discs attached w/central brass rivet and three separate smaller discs attached w/brass rivets at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock areas. Main backing disc revolves to reveal schedules for Boston American baseball team and Boston Nationals baseball team home games. Three additional small discs revolved to record "Home Club" and "Visitors" runs as well as outs. Reverse features same baseball design w/ads for "Alley's East India Stock Ale" and "Pfaff's Lager." Scattered lt. wear/aging w/1/8x.5" area of staining to back bottom edge. Fine/VF overall. Among the nicest and rarest of all celluloid scorers and the first we've seen in our 47 years.
