1.5x2.25" card from the second of three annual issues during the Puerto Rican League winter seasons, these cards are similar to the previous year's set. 216 cards in the set. Glossy bw photo front w/text on back in red which serves as a "Play" designation for use as a card game. Text on this card is "Bombo Al Pitcher- Out." Front features bold and sharp image of Day in his "Santurce" uniform. This along with Hilton Smith (see next item #994) are by far the key cards in the set. Cards from these sets were to be mounted in a corresponding album. This card was once mounted and has some very lt. staining on the reverse border but does not exhibit the usual surface paper wear/loss. The front is clean and glossy w/sharp corners. Visually displaying much higher than the designated grade which is based on the reverse stain. Front of card has great eye appeal. A fantastic rookie card for this Negro League legend and member of the National Baseball HOF. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
