Item Description
From the same set as #993. This is his second year card but the same portrait was also used on his 1948-49 Toleteros card. Back of this card reads "Fly Al Right Out (Pisicorre Safe)". Reverse exhibits some surface paper wear as once mounted (but more in the form of some extra paper adhered to the surface rather than surface paper loss). Card front remains glossy and image is sharp. Visually it displays much higher than the designated grade which is primarily based on the mounting issue. A great card for this Negro League legend and member of the National Baseball HOF. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
