Item Description
Illustrated cardboard box contains 4-5/8" tall painted die-cast metal and plastic action figure depicting the boy robot star of the Japanese manga (Japanese comic books) series first published in 1952. Box features photo of the toy included within and bears sticker w/the name of Osamu Tezuka, Astro Boy's creator, revered in Japan as the "God of Manga." Box is covered in Japanese text and is marked "GA-62." Box shows handling wear w/some creases and color rubs. Fine overall. Toy was made in Japan by Popy in 1974. Toy features spring-loaded fists and boots that fire at the touch of a button as well as chest plate that flips down to reveal images of characters from the manga which revolve via knob on back. Figure come w/pegged plastic display stand, extra fists and all paperwork. Complete and Mint as issued. Great design and detail.
