Extremely high quality 23-5/8x32.5" lithograph from a series of five lithographs created for Circle Gallery in 1978. This litho is based on the cover to "Detective Comics" #31 and shows Batman looming over a moonlit Gothic castle. From a limited edition of 300, this example is an even more limited artist's proof as noted by the "AP" designation at lower left in pencil. Lower left also bear Circle Gallery's imprint. Lower right has been signed in pencil by Kane. Lower margin has some handling wear w/long but faint creases and corner tip foxing. Upper margin has some handling wear and two .75" areas of surface paper lift from tape removal. These issues are easily matted out for a VF display. Litho design remains bright and bold.
