Item Description
8.25x11.5" Aug. 23, 1954 Vol. 1 #2 issue of weekly sports magazine w/88 pages. Issue includes three-panel fold-out w/27 cards which opens to 11.5x23.5" and pictures 27 example cards w/players shown on the front/stats on back. Black and white (previously unprinted) cards include Mickey Mantle and Enos Slaughter. In 1954 and 1955 Topps did not release any regular issue Mantle cards because Bowman had signed exclusive agreements w/players including Mantle. "The Yankees Are Still The Team To Beat" article explains why people collect baseball cards and what makes some more valuable than others. Baseball card sheet has .5" crease at top left corner that only affects Eddie Robinson card. Cards are o/w NM. Magazine has .5" upper left corner crease and pinch creases to spine. Front cover has original address label. Fine. A very interesting item for the baseball card enthusiast and Mantle completist.
