Item Description
Two items. 8x10.5” stiff paper sheet has choice pencil drawing of the Phantom wearing a skull ring giving a “thumbs up” to the viewer. Art is boldly signed in ink “Thumbs Up To All My Phantom Friends!! Sy Barry ‘08”. Comes w/ 5.25x8-1/8” card w/art by Barry of the Phantom and Diana for luncheon held at Sardi’s in NYC June 7,2008. Signed in ink “Sy Barry” at bottom. Art and card are NM, obviously obtained together at luncheon. Barry succeeded Ray Moore and Wilson McCoy, becoming the main artist on the Phantom comic strip for 33 years between 1962 and 1994. He and creator Lee Falk gave the Phantom a more modern look. Great pair to frame together.
