Item Description
Pair of glazed ceramic mugs made in Germany by Villeroy & Voch for the Charles E. Hires Co. as noted by stamp on undersides of each. c. 1910. First measures 4.25" tall and features colorful illustration of child holding this same mug w/his image on it and foamy root beer head spilling out of it. Text at top reads "Drink Hires Rootbeer." Exc. Taller 5" tall version features slightly different image, w/same child (only older) in tuxedo raising this same mug w/his image on it and foamy root beer head spilling out of it. Text at top reads "Join Health And Cheer - Drink Hires Rootbeer." Scattered aging and lt. wear to lettering. VF.
