Item Description
First is DeWitt #1840-25 in copper at 1-1/16". Tiny rim hole as issued. Portrait name and birth date on the front while reverse shows cabin and hard cider barrel with text "The People's Choice/The Hero Of Tippecanoe." Beautiful chocolate brown finish and NM. Second is DeWitt #1840-9. Front has portrait name and birth date of Van Buren. Reverse shows scales with text "Weighed In The Balance & Found Wanting." The depicted scales show the positions favoring the "Democrats" over the "Whigs." Only the slightest smoothing of the details. Very nice brass patina. Pair.
