Item Description
First is 8" tall "Delegate" ribbon for Republican Convention in Erie, Pa. This item is the same as item #196 however this piece has some age. There is a 1" fabric split just above the rim of the celluloid and the celluloid has an 1/8" age dot on Hobart's photo and similar mark between their photos. Still displays very nicely. Second item is 5" tall with brass hanger and gold text on the red ribbon reading "Inauguration McKinley And Hobart March 4th, 1897." Loss of the gold from the year and suspended highly domed double sided celluloid is held to the ribbon by a cord whereas usually this would be a metal loop. However it does appear original. The celluloids are exceptionally highly domed and the front has jugate of "G.O.P. McKinley And Hobart." Some small age dots on the outer perimeter. Reverse has pair of crossed flags on a cream background. This has .25" and 1/8" dark tan marks at center and a few smaller dark marks on outer edge. Piece still displays well from the front. Sen. Charles Dick Collection.
