They are standing on a ball field. Reverse has photographer's ink stamp along w/inked publication notations. Photo is from the 1945-46 season of the Puerto Rican Baseball League and the year this team won the championship in addition to Irvin winning the MVP award. In 1947 Doby would break the color barrier of the American League following in the footsteps of Jackie Robinson who did the same in the National League that year.
