Item Description
Sizes range from 10x12" to 13x18" with India and red ink on stiff wax paper sheets. All are c. 1957 and most likely proposed as ads for publication in game programs. All feature text "Cortesia" (Courtesy) along w/traditional Coca-Cola logo. Four are portraits: Cuban HOF member Adolfo Luque (shown w/a Coke bottle), Venezuelan HOF member Regino "Reggie" Otero, Conrado "Connie" Marrero, Gilberto Torres. The fifth is cartoon for the 1956-57 Championship team Marianao Tigers. Humorous scene of tiger mascot atop championship platform being attended to by apparent team owner as well manager Napoleon Reyes, the men use files to sharpen his claws and teeth. Behind them is an open grave for the other three teams in the league. All have margin wear w/some crease and small tears. Corner piece missing from Torres. Sheets also have some aging and handling wear but all art remains strong and bold. Sheets VG to Fine overall but a11 remains Exc. Unique lot. From the Cesar S.
