Item Description
8.75" tall tin litho w/hard vinyl head robot toy made in Japan, 1970s. Depicts Grendizer robot from the super robot TV anime/manga created by manga artist Go Nagai. The third entry in the Mazinger trilogy, the anime (Japanese cartoon) was broadcast in Japan Oct. 1975 to Feb. 1977. The robot's first appearance in the US was as a part of Mattel's famed Shogun Warriors line of super robot toys, where he was known as Grandizer. Robot has built-in key on side and works when wound, walking as arms move by movement of over-sized winding key. Raised portions of painted vinyl head show some wear and tin litho body has some scattered paint nicks. VF overall.
