Item Description
18.75x22.75" frame contain original acrylic art that has been matted to 13.25x17". Art depicts either American or British trio of frogmen taking Japanese fortification, a bloodied dead Japanese soldier lays in foreground while frogmen exchange fire w/three additional Japanese soldiers in inflatable raft, hitting one w/another floating dead in the water. Additional fortifications can be seen in bkg., where an explosion goes off. Japanese submarine can also be seen in bkg. Art was created for an unknown 1960s men's magazine, likely one w/a war theme. Art was by Gil Cohen, a noted aviation artist and known for his many World War II action magazine covers, many featuring scantily-clad women. Art offered here has large blank area at top for magazine title and this are shows some aging/wear w/pair of 11" long vertical slices to surface, mostly visible in white area. Art still displays VF as framed.
