First is 6.25x8.5" letter on "The Vice-President's House/Washington, D.C. 20501" stationery dated November 30, 1981. Addressed to York newsman Harry McLaughlin "How Nice Of You To Send The Photos. We So Enjoyed Our Visit To Williamsburg And Being A Part Of The Festivities For The Yorktown Bicentennial." Signed below "Barbara Bush" with additional comments in her hand "Give Our Best To Kelly. I Do Think You Take Good Pictures!" Followed by illegible sentence ending in "Sat. & Sunday!." Comes with original envelope post marked December 1, 1981. Next is 3x5" press pass for Yorktown Bicentennial event Sunday, October 18, 1981/Monday October 19, 1981. "Press" side has inked name "Harry J. McLaughlin" and on "Affiliate" line in ink "Harrisburg Patriot News." Reverse has in black ball point pen "Barbara Bush". At angle. Lower portion has Yorktown Virginia postmark Oct 19 1981 with two 18¢ stamps. Cardboard pass is attached by 30" string to laminated 2x5" "Press/Yorktown Bicentennial Committee" tag. Lot also includes three 3.5x5" snapshots of the event. Two showing Vice-President Bush and Barbara arriving on helicopter and viewing Williamsburg. Photos are Exc. From the Harry McLaughlin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA and 2 JSA COAs.
