Item Description
1" brass frame with brilliant Mint luster reads "For President 1872." Reverse has 1-1/8" stickpin. Above his photo on the ferrotype is his name "Gen. U.S. Grant." Only two pinpoint dots of emulsion loss, one on center right background and one by letter "A" of his name. In addition in reflected light there are six virtual pinpoint dots on the surface of the emulsion but no actual emulsion loss and these six marks are essentially invisible unless viewed closely and in reflected light.
