Item Description
14.25x18.75" thin artboard contains original pen and ink illustration w/inkwash by noted comic book artist Bill Ward, a cartoonist notable as a good girl artist and creator of the risqué comics character Torchy. Art was for the Jan., 1980 issue of "Cracked" magazine, a comic humor magazine similar to "MAD" magazine. The art has blue penciled dialog balloons at top and has "P. 45" page notice at top left. Top margin has penciled "CR #166 - Cracked Interviews The Roller Disco King" and depicts large-breasted woman in miniskirt preparing to interview man on roller skates wearing leisure suit who is heading her way, though a young boy is about to trip him, word balloon reading "I Hate To Mess Up That Nice White Suit." Several roller derby-like women and men appear in bkg., all wearing long, striped socks. One man launches woman towards large hanging disco ball at top center. Ward's black ink signature appears at bottom center. Sheet has margin handling wear, most noticeable at upper left, but would display Exc. if matted.
