Item Description
16x23" frame contains original acrylic art by comic book artist Gray Morrow that has been matted to 11.75x18.75". "The Outer Limits" was a series that lent itself to imaginative promotional illustrations. One of the earliest renderings was this piece by Morrow, the co-creator of the Marvel Comics muck-monster Man-Thing and of DC Comics Old West vigilante El Diablo. Inspired by Leslie Stevens' "The Borderland" episode (which aired Dec. 16, 1963) that featured a grieving scientist trying to penetrate the fourth dimension to find his recently deceased son on the other side, art depicts the scientist standing amidst electrical coils, energy striking and illuminating his body. Morrow has signed his name at lower right. Art has a thin 4.5" long streak along upper right margin and 1.25" crease at upper left, neither greatly distracting from art, which remains Exc. for display. This art was also featured on a "The Outer Limits" trading card set issued by DuoCards, ©1997 and comes w/a Mint set of these cards.
