Item Description
All is original art drawn and lettered in lead pencil on 8.5x11” paper sheets. Both covers are c. late 1950s and have “Nancy” title at top. One cover has “Dell” logo and shows Nancy happily diapering her doll. The other cover shows her eating spaghetti w/boy. The strand she is chewing is tied to his strand. Both are signed “J. Stanley” at bottom, one in pencil one in ballpoint pen. Complete six page “Choo-Choo Charlie” story is titled “Stop The Shoe”. Storyline has girl kick starting Charlie’s stuck train which runs away. They use a handcar to catch it, then the girl gets in the engine and Charlie hits it w/handcar. Title page is signed in ballpoint pen “John Stanley” at top. Lt. creasing here and there. Overall Fine/VF. Superb examples of Stanley’s writing and art after he left “Little Lulu Comics”. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
