Item Description
10.5x14.75" artboard w/separate paper overlay (marked "'D' Jaguar #1610") has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1976 Lindberg model kit No. 1610 featuring the Jaguar D-Type, a sports racing car that was produced by Jaguar Cars Ltd. between 1954 and 1957. Although it shared many of its mechanical components w/the C-Type, the structure of the car was radically different. The innovative monocoque construction brought aviation industry technology to competition car design, together w/aeronautical understanding of aerodynamic efficiency. D-Types won the Le Mans 24-hour race in 1955, 1956 and 1957. Art shows yellow Jaguar "16" w/"Lefty" moniker on driver's side door. Art is unsigned. Large image area measures 9-3/8x14.25". Overlay has printing labels. Artboard has pinholes at corners, but these could be easily matted out. Art is NM and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
