Item Description
Original 7x9" glossy photo with great image of Cicotte in his Chicago White Sox uniform leaning against a White Motor Company car. Reverse is covered with penciled text about the image along w/ink stamp for "Leader Sports." Undated but dates to his first years w/the team, c. 1912-1914. Reverse text includes "Although Beaten In Wednesday's Game With Naps, White Sox Pitcher Likes Cleveland Goods And Buys White Motor Car." Lt. handling wear/aging but remains glossy w/clear, sharp images. Fine. Cicotte was one of the players in the infamous Black Sox scandal of the 1919 World Series and received a lifetime ban from MLB for his participation. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
