Item Description
Badges range from 5/8" to 2.5". Smallest is a litho with dates "1924/1939." This was issued by the Jewish National Fund but we don't know the significance of these two dates as the group was founded in 1901 to buy and develop land in Palestine. Second item also carries tiny "JNF" initials on a tin shield shaped badge that includes Hebrew text and "Israel Lives." Slight surface denting but clean. Next is a first we've seen 1" reading "I Back Israel." Obvious rim stain. Union bug on reverse. Circa early 1950s. Next with dates "1568-1968" shows interior of Paradesi Synagogue which was constructed in South India in 1568. Next is 1942 "Delegate" button for an Atlantic City convention with title "American Federation For Polish Jews." Cello has couple light scratches and small air marks largely showing just in reflected light. A rare button from a two day event during WWII. Last is another "Convention Delegate" button issued c. 1950s for "Jewish War Veterans & Ladies Axillary/Kings County Council." Tiniest trace of a little age on the white background. Those not noted are NM displaying Mint. With this group comes a 2" diameter by 7/8" thick tin bank with celluloid front and back covers and a coin slot on the side edge. Front has Hebrew text and "The Wise Among Women Buildeth A Home." The reverse text has NYC address for "Mizrachi Women's Organization Of America." Viewed from the front the upper left extreme rim edge has a substantial dent that goes inward about 1/16" and is about .25" in length. Back rim has similar although much more minor indentation. Piece still displays totally clean and glossy. First example we've seen and circa 1930s. Many seldom seen items.
