Item Description
Pair of 22x45.25" salesman's sample calendars. First features stunning art titled "Flying Over Avalon" by Ruehl Frederick Heckman and Jan., 1940 calendar sheet attached. Bottom text reads "This Is A Sample Of Series 40 R 7." Second features scenic desert art titled "Rock Of Ages" by Maxfield Parrish and printed Jan. 1941 calendar sheet. Both were printed by The Thomas D. Murphy Co. of Red Oak, IA. Both have two horizontal folds as issued. Various pencil notes on reverses, w/scattered moderate staining, thought this does not affect fronts for display. Moderate scattered wear, 1940 sample has 1.75" tear at top left fold and 1.5" tear at right as well as lower right corner creasing. VG. 1941 sample has some small tears along margins and at folds. Fine overall. From the Don Maris Collection.
