17-3/8x17-5/8" heavy artboard has choice 14-7/8" dia. watercolor painting done as concept design for advertising paperweight mirror. From the Parisian Novelty Co. of Chicago archives. 1920s. Scene features graphics of Chicago area factory, an airplane closely resembling Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis flies above the factory w/road scene in front of factory showing two cars, flatbed truck and trolley. American flag flies above factory. Design differs slightly from finished product. Trace of lt. dust soiling around sides w/some scattered pencil marks. Image area is Exc. Highly detailed w/great design. Unique. A superb piece for art collectors and of great interest for mirror collectors.
