Auction #212 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 988 in auction 212
Item Description
1.25" with back paper from NYC firm W.A. Anderson. Two tiny dots of paper missing from the back paper. Only the second example we've seen of this button and the first had slightly brighter coloration but this one still remains very attractive with just the very slightest hint of a few age dots on extreme rim edge. Pictured at left is German Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm II while at right is Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I. The war began July 28, 1914 so this is a very early issue appealing for help from American citizens. See next related item.
