From the same set as #874. Bottom margin text reads "Filadelfia 1910 Thomas C." There is a .25" spot of missing surface paper on his face removing most, but not all, of his facial details. Rest of the image remains sharp. Thomas was a catcher, playing in the American League for: the New York Highlanders (1906–07), Detroit Tigers (1908), and Philadelphia Athletics (1909–15). In the Game 1 of the 1908 World Series, he pinch hit for shortstop Charley O'Leary in the ninth inning and singled, completing the first successful pinch hit in World Series play. He helped the Athletics win World Series titles in 1910 and 1911. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
