1.5x2-3/8" Cuban card produced for the Aguilitas Cigarette brand. The baseball cards are a subset featuring 44 players from the Cuban Professional League. This extensive 900 card set also featured movie and stage stars, boxers, and other subjects. Glossy photo front with text below portrait "Dreke Base Ball." The card back has the card number and an ad for Aguilitas. Pinhole to the left of the image but image remains sharp and clear. Dreke, who from 1918-1928, was a star with the Cuban Stars and Almendares Scorpions until he died tragically in 1929 at just 31 of tuberculosis. Dreke was elected to the Cuban Baseball HOF in 1945. The Almendares Scorpions won the championship with Dreke in both 1924-1925 & 1925-1926. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
