Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8" Velox pc showing full team w/photos around art of a baseball diamond along w/crossed bats and balls. For Austin, MN team. Photographer's mark at lower right is "Bishop's Studio." Slight aging w/some faint age spotting, more on front than back, but unused. Trace of corner tip wear. Fine w/sharp and bold images. Pictured at center is pitcher Grimes. He made his professional debut in 1913 but it was not until 1916 that he made his ML debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for a number of other ML teams over his career which ended in 1934 and he then went on to manage the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1937-1938. He was a World Series Champion in 1931 w/the St. Louis Cardinals, NL Wins champion in 1921 & 1928 and NL strikeout champion in 1921. He was inducted into the HOF in 1964. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
