Item Description
Large size 20x27-7/8" poster for Sept. 8-9, 1967 concerts at Denver, CO. venue which featured Big Brother and The Holding Company, Blue Cheer. Poster is #79 known as "Denver Opening" w/superb art by Rick Griffin. Incredibly detailed bw art at center featuring images of many famous advertising-related characters such as Elsie the Borden Cow, Mr. Peanut, Zig Zag Man, Smokey Bear, Quaker Oats Man, Admiral Tobacco Man and other figures such as The Grateful Dead skeleton w/roses along w/additional images of mushrooms, pumpkins, etc. Title of this image reads "Everybody Is Good At Heart." Also at top center of this design is color image of "Royal Cream Baking Powder" container. Text and designs surrounding the center image are in color, all against a blue bkg. Nice horizontal format poster. This is the first and only printing in this large size (a smaller 14x20" poster was also printed). Poster shows aging and wear w/staple holes at top corners and some scattered creases along bottom margin. Moderate scattered aging. VG overall, but center art still displays nicely. From the Mark Arminski Archives and comes with a COA specially designed, signed and remarqued by him.
