Item Description
15x20" artboard has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for model from same series as previous items #2495-2496. This art is for kit No. C386-60, the Japanese battleship Yamato, the lead ship of the Yamato Class of battleships that served w/the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. She and her sister ship, Musashi, were the heaviest and most powerfully armed battleships ever constructed. Neither ship survived the war. Art shows the ship at sea, its guns blazing and Imperial Japanese Navy standard flying at rear. An aircraft carrier can be seen in the distant bkg. and an explosion of water can be seen on opposite side of ship. Art is signed by A.J. Rudisill. Art area measures 9x18". Sticker letters spelling "Yamato" have been placed under art and inked number is at bottom right. Majority of art area is covered w/onionskin overlay attached at top by aged strip of masking tape. Pinholes at corners. Art remains NM and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
