Item Description
Pair of artboards w/original original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1950s Pyro Plastics model kit No. 319-89 featuring a Fijian Outrigger boat w/two Fijians in native attire operating it. Both feature another Outrigger in bkg. First artboard measures 16x20" and has palm trees and a snow-capped mountain can be seen in bkg. Art is signed by Howard W. Arnold. Large image area takes up entire artboard. Art has aging as noted by bright margins from matting. Left margin has moderate aging/surface wear w/some scattered paint flakes. VF w/majority of art still displaying nicely. Corner tip wear but this could be easily matted out. Second artboard measures 17.5x23.5" and has island in bkg. Art is signed by A.J. Rudisill, though we can't find any record of this art being used on production box. Perhaps this piece was submitted and Arnold's art was chosen over it. Large image area takes up entire artboard. Art has aging as noted by bright margins from matting. upper left corner wear w/.5" piece off. VF/Exc. w/majority of art still displaying nicely. Corner tip wear but this could be easily matted out. Nice pair.
