7.25x23-1/8" thin artboard has original India ink art in four panels for Aug. 21, 1954 daily strip features Dick Tracy's friends Sparkle Plenty and Wingy Plenty, Sparkle Plenty appearing in first three panels (second in silhouette only); Wingy Plenty in three panels (one in silhouette only). They are seen lost w/Rainbow Riley, who appears in three panels. In first panel Sparkle Plenty decries having to eat raw dove meat w/Rainbow Riley declaring they will find a pheasant and cook it in last panel. Signed by "Dick Tracy" creator and comic artist Chester Gould in third panel. Chicago Tribune copyright strip in second panel. Blank margins have inked date and "Dick Tracy" title in pencil. Heavy vertical crease at left, 1.5" from edge, w/moderate surface paper lifts to this area, none affecting inked date or art. Blank margins have some scattered soiling. Fine overall, though image area displays Exc.
