Item Description
11.25x17" Marvel Comics thin artboard has original pen and ink art for page 19 of "Nth Man: The Ultimate Ninja" #8, published by Marvel in Jan. 1990. The Nth Man series was about an American ninja set in an unspecified near future where World War III has started. Written by Larry Hama 1989-1990, the series focused on the ninja Nth Man and his orphanage friend Alfie O'Meagan, who grows up to become a powerful psychic, his abilities triggering World War III. Page features six panels for "Lo, The Axeman Cometh!" story, showing a creepy depiction of Alfie in a clown costume, staggering through a burning building w/an axe towards a group of trapped children. Story was written by Hama w/art by Dale Keown, this being the popular "Incredible Hulk" artist's first Marvel work. He would later go on to produce a memorable run on "Incredible Hulk" w/Peter David and find success w/his creator owned series "Pitt." Inks by Fred Fredericks, who has signed in black felt tip pen at lower right. This is the only issue of the series not drawn by series regular Ron Garney. "Nth Man" title/issue/page number handwritten at top. Artboard has some lt. corner tip wear and .75" spot of tape staining at bottom center, but art remains Exc.
