Item Description
25.75x27.75" wood frame w/Plexiglas over archival mat reveals 17x20" image area in India ink and watercolor titled "Jack Davis - Chasing Howard Hughes" on engraved brass title plate on mat underneath art. c. 1970s. Hughes is pictured at top of flagpole w/caricatures of 12 females clamoring to reach him. These caricatures include Katharine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Lana Turner, Jean Harlow, Ava Gardner, Joan Fontaine, and Jean Peters. Art has been signed in ink by Jack Davis at lower right. The July, 1974 issue of "Ladies Home Journal" had an article w/the same title by Sheilah Graham. Comes w/4x6" color photo of the artist in his studio holding this original. Image area is bright and NM. Framed and ready for display.
