Item Description
Each is 1.25". Neither names the maker. In 1966, see previous item, the Lowndes County Freedom Organization entered several local residents as candidates for County offices. It adopted a black panther as a symbol in contrast to the white-dominated Alabama Democratic Party's white rooster. About 70% of the button is covered in light tan stain. It retains full gloss. With it comes a second button picturing an even more detailed and fiercer looking black panther than on the previous button. Text is simply "Right On/Right On." This has a few light tan marks on the background. We do not know the issuer of this button but it is among the earliest and also scarcest of the Black Panther Party buttons. A rare pair.
