Item Description
Small 2-7/8x3-7/8" original glossy photo from the 1920s. Sharp and clear image of Foster wearing a suit, holding a hat and leaning against a tree. On either side of him are his aunts. Foster was a star pitcher playing for a number of Negro League teams such as the Chicago American Giants, Homestead Grays, KC Monarchs and Pittsburgh Crawfords. He was a two-time All-Star and two-time Negro League World Series champion. He was inducted into the National Baseball HOF in 1996. He was the younger brother of Rube Foster, Negro league player, pioneer, and fellow Hall of Famer. Tape residue stain below their feet. At left center is .25" surface paper flake. None of this affects the image and photo remains bright and glossy. Still displays Fine. Original photos of Foster are rare. This comes from Foster Estate and comes w/LOA signed by his daughter Sarah.
