Item Description
15x20" artboard has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1960s Pyro Plastics "Table Top Navy" 1/1,200 Scale model kit No. C379-49, the British Royal Navy battleship HMS Prince of Wales, a King George V-class battleship involved in several key World War II battles, including the battle of Denmark Strait against the German battleship Bismarck, operations escorting convoys in the Mediterranean, and her final action and sinking in the Pacific in 1941. Art shows the ship at sea amongst ice/icebergs, British Union Jack flag and Royal Navy standard flying. Art is signed by A.J. Rudisill, an internationally-acclaimed artist whose original acrylic paintings of landscapes and seascapes have been exhibited at major galleries throughout the country. Earlier in his career Rudisill provided stunning model kit box art, such as offered here. Art area measures 11-3/8x19". Ship's name is penciled at bottom right below art. Large model kit number in marker at lower left. Printing labels at left and right center margins. Margins have some tape/tape residue, none of which affects art, which has many small scattered purple dots in sky area of art. Art is o/w Exc. and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
